Hello March! Does anyone know what happened to February? Oh wait, I was out of commission, that’s right. Ugh. Well, even with me not being 100%, I worked with some amazing designers put out three (3) more beautiful patterns this last month – one of each crochet, Tunisian crochet, and knit. There are two (2) more patterns in the testing process, two (2) others in various stages and I know of at least one (1) planned for this spring/summer (Tunisian crochet if anyone wants to keep an eye out, and that’s all I’m sharing haha). Official count to my end-of-year goal – 6/30 published patterns!
Have you heard? Ruth Basch (IG @RuthBasch) from Everyday Yarnworks is hosting an amazing make-along that will start on April 1, 2021. She has put in some amazing hard work to build an off social media platform for this MAL to take place on. Here are Ruth’s words on what the MAL is based on.
“Are there fiber arts designers who don’t get the spotlight you think they deserve? Make one of their patterns and show it off! The Uplift Make Along is an online event created to celebrate and show off the work of independent knitting and crochet pattern designers.”

I want to encourage everyone to participate – whether it’s going to be as a designer contributing work or as a maker showing off an amazing designer’s work. This is going to be an amazing way to find new-to-you designers, make new maker friends, and just an all-around good time. Ruth has a link for designers to set up for early notification on her blog. I’m not going to share it directly here, as I want everyone to read the blog post and know exactly what you’re signing up for.

Per Ruth’s blog post, here are the important dates to remember:
– Early designer access to post introductions: March 25, 2021 (Thursday)
– Early participant access to check out designers before you start your project: March 30, 2021 (Tuesday)
– Official Project Start: April 1, 2021 (Thursday, or whatever time zone you’re in, if it’s April 1, you can start!)
– Event Ends: June 30, 2021 (Wednesday, or end of the day wherever you are)

Make sure you go check it out as dates are coming up fast. Ruth has been kind enough to offer me a position on the moderation team, so you’ll have one familiar face there, haha. All I ask, let me know if you’re planning on signing up as a designer, maker, or both so I can promote you and cheer you on!

I am happy to say that I am mostly recovered from my recent treatment and ready to help with new patterns at normal speed. I will not be “working” next Thursday through Sunday (March 18-21st) as the Mister and I have plans. I will be happy to work out anything around that schedule.

I will be heading back to my “day job” at the end of the month, so all pending work will be around that schedule – which is generally Sundays or Mondays unless something else is previously worked out.

I am happy to help you work out deadlines – whether for blog collaborations or self-imposed – to help keep you accountable if needed. Something about that outside for helping is always nice. I am here to cheer you on!
