View this email in your browser It has been a busy pair of months for behind-the-scenes work for a lot of my designers. The first of the published patterns is celebrated next (scroll just a bit further), with at FIVE to SEVEN coming out in the next month. AAAHHHHHH!!! And don’t worry, I know of at least two patterns that have tester calls going on now, so the goodness will keep rolling in. The official end-of-year goal count – 7/30. CONGRATULATIONS to Kathleen for releasing the Amelia sweater! This beautiful sweater is knit as a top-down raglan. The sleeves are in a similar texture to her Amelia socks. I think my favorite detail though is the “side seams” that aren’t actually seamed. It just finishes the piece so well. This sweater is rated for beginner knitters, and several makers finished this as their first knit garment. I’d suggest scooting over and snagging it up! I am happy to help you sort through anything, and encourage you all the way!    SUBMISSION DEADLINE: SATURDAY 5/10/2021 The following information is from their blog post – I’ve provided the link below this post.  Submission Themes: WeCrochet is looking for a variety of crochet designs for our upcoming Spring 2022 magazine. We have provided mood boards of inspirational images and yarns to use, as well as specific designs we are looking for in this PDF. This call is for crochet designs only. Brief Description: We are looking for new crochet patterns in 5 themes for Spring 2022— Motif Mania, Garden Party Lace Tops, Tunisian Crochet, Crochet Organization and Homesteading. Please see each theme’s mood board for exact yarn and project details. WeCrochet Blog Post I can’t believe it’s the end of April already. These last two months have been full of growth. I started with three new-to-me designers, with two of those patterns are actively in testing now. Another two established-with-me designers opened a new tester call each this week. Two established-with-me designers are going to be wrapping up FOUR current tests in the next couple of weeks. I’ve been actively moderating the Uplift Make Along, which is still going on through the end of June. This has been a lot of fun! It’s a laid-back, easy interaction, everyone cheering each other and the designers on. I’ve had a lot of fun with it. You are welcome to join as a designer or maker, just punch the button below. It’s never too late.  I think the thing I was most honored with this last month was being a safety net for another Tech Editor. She was going through a hard time and wanted to give her clients an option to meet their deadlines. I was floored and humbled to be able to be that person for her. To give her that peace in her time of need was something I am happy to provide.  I’m ashamed it has taken me this long to share this bit of news with y’all. I’ve been avoiding it mostly because I don’t want it to be true. I have to have another involved treatment next week. Due to this, I will be “out of the office” from May 4th through somewhere around May 18th. All current obligations will be honored (yes, a couple of designers have some amazing stuff coming atcha!). Please just bear with me as I will once again be slow coming back to “normal” speed. The silver lining from it is that I’ll be off from my “day job” for a bit, so we’ll see if I can’t figure out how to stay entertained haha. I think that’s it for now. I’ll be looking into working on a website in the next pair of months and finishing my master grading course to help with grading more proficiently. Any big plans for May?
